Contact EPIQ, the claims administrator of the compensation plans

The CQTS-Blais tobacco class action is open only to smokers and ex-smokers who were alive on November 20, 1998 and who were diagnosed with one of the following diseases before March 12, 2012:

  • Primary lung cancer;
  • Primary squamous cell cancer of the larynx, oropharynx or hypopharynx (throat cancer”);
  • Emphysema or COPD (GOLD Grades III or IV).

Based on what you have indicated in the questionnaire, you do not appear to meet the criteria. As a result, we are unfortunately unable to help you prepare your claim. Nothing is stopping you from taking the necessary steps to filing a claim in the CQTS-Blais class action directly with the claims administrator, EPIQ.

However, the Plan of Arrangement also includes the Pan-Canadian Claimant Compensation Plan, which provides for distribution to certain tobacco victims and their heirs. This plan provides compensation for certain Canadian smokers or ex-smokers diagnosed between March 8, 2015, and March 8, 2019.

For more information on the Pan-Canadian Claimant Compensation Plan or why you do not appear to qualify for compensation under either plan, please contact EPIQ :
